Why buy a house when you can purchase a whole town?

Times are tough, but tough enough to put your town up for sale? The owner of a historic town nestled in the Texas hill country is doing just that.

Located 20 miles outside of Fredericksburg, the 13 acre town of Albert, Texas is on the market. Orginially priced at $2 million, the town's price tag has been slashed to $883,000. But even that is negotiable.

Sounds like a pretty good deal for a town lol.  Most mansions cost 10 times the price.  If I ever get enough money I wouldn't mind buying a small town, imagine all the land and stuff you could do with it.

I've often dreamed of buying an old ghost town or almost ghost town and creating an artist community. This sounds like the perfect one but I'm a tad bit short of the cost. Does anyone have $830,000 they want to donate to my dream?

One of my cousins did this. He purchased an abandoned town in North Dakota. Why North Dakota? (1.) It's our home state. (2.) The wind NEVER stops blowing in North Dakota. (3.) He's involved in the development of wind energy.
I'd say he made a very wise purchase.
