Hello, Everyone!
When I was praying this morning about what scripture to give you today, I felt impressed to share Isaiah 55:11, which is one of my favorites. Of course, I know that I say that frequently but it is a favorite nonetheless.
Isaiah 55:11:
11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
The reason it is so crucial to know the Word is because God is only obligated to fulfill what He promised not just some sloppy prayer you decide to pray. People pray a lot of things for a lot of reasons and they seem to expect God to not only hear them but to actually fulfill them as if He’s some sort of lottery.
God is not the lottery and even though there are times that His grace and mercy will supersede and He will respond to you, He does expect you to grow up and do things His way at some point. When you are a baby in the Word and you don’t know a lot, He will work with you but the more you learn in the Word, the more He will expect of you.
God has a recipe, of sorts, in answering prayer and I’m going to give you the steps so that you can have a more effective prayer life. I probably won’t get it all said today so I may be doing some of this tomorrow.
Anyway, the steps are based on Philippians 4:6:
6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([a]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
- Start by thanking God for what you already have;
- Find promises in the Word for what deals with your particular situation and write them out;
- Pray according to Mark 11:24, which says: 24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].
- Then, praise and thank God that you have what you have prayed for.
- Now, comes the hard part. The enemy is going to do everything he can to get you to give up before your prayer manifests so you have to stand firm in your faith in spite of what he tries to tell you..
Yesterday, I talked about your mind being a battlefield. Well, once you’ve prayed and believe you received, then it’s time to start casting down imaginations contrary to the Word you prayed. Believe me, the enemy is not going to sit back and let you have a victory without a fight.
I have to stop for today but will continue along these lines tomorrow. I hope this has blessed and encouraged you. Have a blessed day and may God empower you to prosper in every area of your life.
