Chris started his new medication today. Most ADHD meds are a form of a stimulant, and they usually give him an upset belly for the first few days. This med is a twice a day med, but the second dose is in the afternoon while he's at school.
I just waited around the school for 30 minutes for his lunch to start, because I thought it started at 12:15. I got there at 12:10. I told the office I would just snag him on the way through. His lunch is at 12:30. His class has a sub, and they didn't arrive until almost 12:40.
His teacher told me he did really good this morning, but that he complained of a belly ache, which is normal. When I caught him, I asked how he was feeling, and he looked kind of miserable. I told him to make sure he eats his lunch, because part of it is how the meds react to an empty stomache, which is why in the mornings, he always gets his meds after breakfast.
Well, after spending all that time there, and walking home, the school called. He's in the office, not feeling good, and looking a little green around the gills. I'm walking back down in a few minutes to get him. Poor guy!
