So after geting fed up with the on-going process of going through my things in preparation to move, I decided to walk around part of my subdivision in search of Spring. I found quite a bit of it eventhough it's a breezy day with temps in the mid-50s.
I began in my yard. We have a ton of tall pines and our bulb flowers lag behind other neighbors who get more sun. Our Bradford Pear tree is beginning to bloom though.

My Daffodils are almost ready to begin to bloom.

My Pansies are even looking much more chipper than they did a few weeks ago too.

I then headed down the streets where I found fully bloomed Daffodils and a Japanese Magnolia (Tulip Tree) that was beginning to bloom.

Many of the trees are budding. It won't be long before the pollen is all over too.

Lots of Camellias were blooming too!

And finally what I call Star Magnolias (though I have no idea if that's their real name or not) were in various stages of blooming.

So eventhough it's still long sleeve and light jacket weather here in Georgia, I'd say that Spring is here. I'm sure we'll get a few more cold spells between now and April, but it sure was nice to see all of this during my short walk this afternoon.
Hope you enjoyed the tour.

Beautiful Photos
It will get cool again for a few days, it was 72 today, but is supposed to dip down to the fourties for a couple of days.
a great essay and photos. That is the Star Magnolia .It usually blooms so early,a cold snap kills the blooms. Bummer.
We may have daffodils by the end of March, but then again, they may wait until April. Planting can't start here until mid-May.
I didn't know you were moving. Whassupwidat?
Bitch.
You will not believe but just a few minutes ago I posted a photo essay about signs of spring in SC!!!!!! When I went to my group page that was when I saw your photo essay!!!!
BTW, I have featured this photo essay in THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION!!!!
I wish spring would hurry up and get to IL!
no other signs of spring here yet........
beautiful photos Marianne.........
We are not so close to spring here.
I think Jennifer is referring to the pink magnoilas as tulip trees. Seems I had this discussion last year. Tulip trees bloom later and when there are leaves on the tree. Of course using the common name and not botanical, some people may call magnolias tulip trees.
Great photos!
It sure was nice to be warm in Vegas though~
great variety of signs of Spring.....love the light on the rose n' white Camellia....no dogwoods?
