Anyway, I love the pics Wendy.

Judi, wow, you weren't kidding. That WAS a spectacular review. Congrats!
What can I say? I don't follow directions all that well. :)
Cathy
Sia, we're still winding up the last thread. Just figured I see what was goin' on round here.
Cathy, French food and movie; sounds like great fun.
Anyway. GOOD MORNING! And congrats all around.
Now for my regularly scheduled work.
I did see unemployment is being extended through 2009? That could be very very good for me.
(of course I mentioned Pat. How could I not? But I also really liked her pitch - the little smarta** thought she was being flippant when she tossed that one my way. And then I told her to use it!)
Ken, glad to hear you escaped the ax. Wow. It's time for some businesses to thrive. Get crackin', America!
First Amazon review of TSS
Shout out to our Queen.. glad you're having a good time!
Ken, that is truly frightening. Here's to another day of safety for all.
Finding cool party graphics this close to Mardi Gras is pretty easy.. but I was very pleased with the first one in particular. They fit so well with Wombats.
Dale if you're going to try and scare up orignal Wombats don't forget Ann B.
I almost said old bats.. but I don't feel like digging today. grin
The sun is shining what a wonderful treat.
Well I'm off to get my child from school and take him up to the concert. He was very funny this morning. could hardly contain himself. First thing he did was to check to see if the concert was still on. They had to cancel Ft Wayne's concert due to food poisoning but it's still n for St. Louis. Got my earplugs. I'll talk to you all later...
I saw your comment on the last thread about comic writing. Why dont you make that into the next article thread. I am sure we all have a lot to say about comedy.
Beaker, Sherrie and John are not allowed to comment at all, and the rest of you must be serious. This will leave me alone, waxing in high comedic form. There I just gave John a great idea for his next Monday humor - waxing.
So anyway, AKA (all kidding aside) how about it Jill? Can we have a thread from you devoted to amusement? And then maybe after that, lets see.....hmmmm.....how about.... hummmm..............sex?...
nah
I (heart) giving exams. Gives me time to write novels. Reckless breakthrough. Yippee! Now I gotta go type it all in. I didn't have my handy dandy handwriting converting pen.
And I (heart) Tuesdays because I get off work at noon.
And I recently discovered I (heart) Taco John's grilled steak burritos. Omygawd. Nummins!
Lab work? What's that?
In other news, Sean has decided he wants to be a rock star novelist when he "grows up". HEH! Acorns do not fall far from the tree.
So many things to celebrate! And how wonderful we can all come up with something! Judi, that is a truly wonderful review and richly deserved. You've worked long and hard for this and it most definately is the time to reap the rewards!
Ken, I celebrate everyday I still have a job, even if it makes me crazy. It's better than the alternative! And James, you sound like you have a wonderful, close-knit family, and from reading your blog, I know you are have a wonderful time and encountering gastronomic delights! Definately worth celebrating!
Sia, I love how close you and Jake are. You're going to have a great time, and some fun stories to tell! Can't wait to hear them! And Beth, I'm glad we give you excuses to happy-dance, though I suspect you dance all the time anyway!
Me? Yesterday's laryngitis turned into today's mere whisper. Funny, in its own way, when one has a hard-of-hearing hubs. You just have to laugh. We've resorted to emailing one another from the ktichen to the den! Yes, I'm home today. No point in making it worse. Hilarious enough yesterday on the conference call. Me, barely able to speak, my overly shy co-worker having to speak for me, and the clients with barely understandable accents. Heaven only knows what we all think we agreed to!
And Judi, apparently I do my best work when I'm being a sarcastic smarta$$! Then again, it's takes someone like you to spot that and dare me to do something with it!
Off to find a cup of tea and sustenance I can swallow that doesn't scratch. I thnk there must be tapioca around here somewhere.
Okay, I'll stop now.
Let's see, Pat... what else can I dare you to do? Oh, yeah - how's that query letter coming?
Wendy, your ping on my profile asked how I got the cool, and utterly PERFECT wallpaper. At the beginning of the month, there was a Gather article looking for volunteers to try out an experiment in using wallpaper, with a couple of Valentine choices. I figured I had a new profile, so no biggie if they messed it up, so I volunteered. The result is a perfect background for a romance writer, and a lucky serendipity that I'm wearing red in my picture! (Well, I do happen to wear red quite a lot, so chances are, there are lots of pictures of me in red!) Check my profile (the Kat one) if you want to see what Wendy means. Personally, I love the wallpaper! (And Judi will be jealous!) I think a future upgrade will include this.
Miller Mitchell Michaels Mills
Those are the four I've come up with. Any opinions? Miller is a family name - goes way back - but it's my least favorite. I do want an "Mi" last name. Can anyone think of more Mi last names that they like?
Jaycee Michaels
I'm pretty sure no writers go by that name, but I'll go do a search.
Anyone else glad that Rachael doesn't have their MS right now? :-)
The galleys are in for IOHH. Woo hoo!!!! Off to the printer with it!
But, yes, I want wallpaper. With my book cover on it. Twitter lets me have that.
So much to celebrate for so many Wombats! What am I celebrating? A 32 pound lose and the doctor released me for exercise and for soft solid foods! He was sooooo impressed with my progress!
Pat, I left comments on the blog announcing the winners but I want to say, Congratulations! again. You deserve it and none of us are a bit surprised.
Judi, terrific review! Much deserved.
Wendy, I love the pictures you have on this article. Makes me want to go to a Mardi Gras party just to wear one of those masks.
I got a different phone cuz something happened to the other one. Don't know what happened, it just was broke.. wail! Ahem.. off to shop ringtones.
Pat, it has been really good to share the good food and unusual places with the family. All of us get different things out of the experience; for me, there's lots of novelty in having them all along and definitely I mean that in a good way. Time to see what's available for eats here in CH after 4 hours on the road this afternoon.
The pen name is growing on me. I think it sounds young. Which is what I'm going for. I'll fool them all, mwa ha ha ha.
I agree. Kat looks world-famous already.
About pen names, I always knew I'd use my real name, because it's kinda wacky, and easy to remember. Have I ever mentioned, BTW, that it's my maiden name? I didn't change it when I married, because, well, I just didn't want to.
Well, time for a racquetball whuppin.' Last time, I GAVE it. Take THAT, spouse-meister! Mwahahahahahaha!!!
Good luck at the racketball whoopin'. I haven't played in over a year. My forearm muscles are twitching in pain at the very idea.
Alright, now I'm REALLY off for that racquetball whuppin.' Catch you all later!
Wanda, yay for the weight loss, but even better, yay for real food!! WOOOOT!! That's a big step forward! Keep going!
Jamie, I like the name choice. And compared to some of us, you ARE young! And hello to jill as well! What's up in your world? Staple anybody to death lately?
Sherrie, if I had a name like that, I'd never change it either! It's perfect! And James, glad to hear you are having such a good time with family!
OK, now to hit Submit, and see who I am! I've been logged in and out several times, catching up on things, and I can never remember to check before I start typing!
Jaycee Michaels is very nice. I like it.
Been busy all day, talking to people at school regarding difficult teen. None of them want to take her home. Will be forced to raise her myself. Drat.

Pat, I fluctuate from being grateful I have a job to feeling really selfish that I hate it. Once in a while I think it's getting a little less chaotic, and as soon as I think it, some new snafu rears its hideous head, and the cylce starts all over again. I actually had a job interview Friday. I privately asked a woman we do business with if there were ever any job openings where she is. To my surprise she said, "Yes, benefit enrollment coordinators. Send me your resume" I did, and had a phone call within two hours. The place was close enough that I went to the interview during my lunch hour the next day. Am weighing the pros and cons (which is premature since they plan second interviews, and I don't even know if I'll be selected) Cons: It's a little less money than I'm making now, and only a week's vacation the first year. Pros: Casual dress, advancement potential, less accounting and more people interaction (which could either be pro or con LOL.) Not sure if it would be the job for me, but I just feel sooo much better knowing there are still companies hiring in these poor economic times, and that there are OPTIONS. I think the reason I've been in such a funk is that this job change was forced on me, and I felt like I lost control of my life. Just having that simple interview made me feel less stuck, and more in control. And more like myself again.
Also e-mailed a resume to a company tonight. Just exploring my options. But do want to make wise decisions and not base them too much on emotion.
Boy Jill, that sounds like a sticky job situation. It's always tough, especially in these economic times. But life is too short to have a job that makes you miserable. And I know from experience!
And Jill as Hidden Dragon! What could be more perfect. Sweet accountant by day, Dragin by night!
And Zeke? LOL, Wendy! Somehow it goes along with that picture of you.! I think it's cute!
Jill, yes about control. And taking it back. That's why I'm still thinking over the request to apply for a job a friend passed to me. It IS nice to know you have options, even at times like this. I'm just trying to decide what my "change" tolerance is. Normally, I hate it, but the last year has brought so manny giant sized WAVES of change in my life, I don't know how much more I can take. I mean, I'm home from work sick today, and still spent my time frantically flinging together an agent query. Hellooo??? That was SOOOOO not on my schedule! Synopsis? Request for a full? The Amazon complication? Nope, none of that was on my schedule either! Paris? French lessons (who has time?) And Judi prodding me to remember to apply for PRO status now with the RWA? Um, nope, I didn't see any of that on my calendar? And somebody wants me to apply for a new job as well? And this has all been in the last couple of weeks (and most of it in the last two days!)
I need to go find a nice, quiet, secluded padded room someplace. And insist people call me Mighty Huntress, and bring me macaroni and cheese.
Migration has started. fun fun. Geese started rolling into the are in full force and a few cranes. Already enough in the area to show up on the weather radar.
This limerick I send
Not as good as one of yours
But trust that its intent is pure
Hope your blues lessen soon
so you’ll be whistling happy tunes
Sheesh. Mike, it's a good thing you popped in and stopped that bad limerick from growing. LOL
Cathy
Time to get some sleep; another college tour awaits tomorrow morning.
My Sawyer nickname is Sassafras.
Uh, right-o.
I believe Little Limey Butt would be John, not Sherrie, at least when June and Jules show up.
Rats. Guess I'd better write for a few minutes.
I checked out the contest page, Pat B., and WOW, I don't know how you'll choose the winners. You're right about those imaginations, that's for sure!
Beth, toss a chocolate my way, will ya? Mmmmmm....
Laughing at the nicknames isn't helping my headache. Off with me.
Goodnight Neverland
WTG, Wanda! Please do keep us posted on your progress.
Be home next week.
