There is a cottonwood tree in the backyard that when the lake water rises the roots are in the lake. The top part of it is dead so it doesn't have leaves even in the summer. It is a favorite of all the birds, the Crows believe it is theirs, they don't seem to mind sharing with the smaller birds. I looked out today and saw a juvenile Bald Eagle in the tree. They are not small by any means, I knew it was a juvenile Bald Eagle, since it doesn't have it's white head and tail yet.

It didn't take long for the Crows to take notice that this Eagle was in their tree.

The Crows ganged up on this Eagle, dive bombing it, and making a ruckus.

The Eagle took the abuse for awhile, until he saw an adult female flying over head, off, he flew, I am thinking she must be his mother.

I guess bullies come in all shapes and sizes, even in nature.

Marianne, It takes four years for the Eagles to acquire their full adult plumage. Around here they are mistaken for Golden Eagles, but Golden Eagles are smaller, then the Bald Eagles.
Glad you enjoyed it Jax!
Roy, I didn't know that about them traveling for four years. Amazing, and thanks for the info.
Thanks Sue!
So young, and already bald? Probably too much testosterone.
