Twitter Help Please?

I've thought a lot about signing up with twitter.  I finally decided to get it done as so many are saying it's a great way to get your things seen around online.

I tried to sign up but got a message that my username was already taken.  So, I logged in.  Sure enough, I had signed up...apparently over 2 years ago as the photo was of me and Frank and we've not been together for over 2 years.

Now, I don't know how this whole twitter thing works.  How do you go about getting in there what you are doing?  Do I have to manually post in the update when I make a new gather post, or build or update a squidoo lens??

That may work but seems like a lot of extra work to remember to do so.

Any help and suggestions sure will be appreciated to get me going with it.

I have done that before. I think it was with gather and a few others. funny how I get around. I hear Twitter is great.

Never heard of the place.....I am giving up a lot of my programs/groups.....I am on the computer entirely too much and HAVE to give up a bunch of stuff. Besides, with all of the "surprise" money that's come our way lately, I don't have to worry about being on any of them so long anymore!

I don't do twitter. I've never even looked into that one. A lot of people sign up for facebook too to promote themselves.

Marsha, we had a twitter account for 3 months until we finally cracked it open (still not sure we use 75% of the potential yet)
Anyway, just start finding people, news, media, hobbies you enjoy and begin following those people. Many of who will follow you as well. If you stumble accross something you find interesting on the net, share the link there, if you want to share your gather posts, share them on twitter as well. Just an easy resource to stay connected.

All you have to do is post a little bit about what you're currently doing. For example, if you're having tea, coffee or even preparing dinner, you plug it into the box that you put content in. The purpose of Twitter is to allow your friends and family members to keep track of what you're doing in your life. Ergo, the limit to the phrase you can place in the Tweet Box is only 140 Characters. You shouldn't really need any more than that.

I'd also like to say that Twitter isn't all that difficult to use once you know the basics of what to do.
