I had an important mission today: to buy a really cheap recliner. I had seen the new Big Lots ad this week and starting today the store was supposed to have $325 recliners on sale for $199 the perfect price for us.
My hubby and I got up really early so we could be there when the store opened. we arrived at ten till and a few people were already lined up at the door. when we were allowed in we moved to the furniture section and could not seem to find the on sale recliners.
once we found them an older couple were already looking at the chairs. I was not bothered because I felt as though we would be able to get one from the back.
well come to find out the store only had two recliners even though the ad promoted a huge presidents day sale. the store has a policy of only one purchase per customer so we thought we were safe. well the older couple bought one recliner a piece.
This made me so upset. I really wanted a recliner at that price. they told us we could pay that price for one and maybe they would get some in. if not you could get your money back but it may be like two weeks or more before they could tell you if they would get any in.
This makes no sense to me. Why and how can a store advertise a deal and huge sale but not have enough merchandise to provide more than two people? i do not understand this. it makes no sense to me.
There should be a law where stores have to have a certain amount of an item before they place it on sale in the papers but that is just my opinion.
