L.A. detectives are frustrated.
A beloved entertainer was victimized by a brutal assault from her estranged, celebrity boyfriend last Sunday.
Just hours before, the couple was seen at an A-list event dressed to the nines. They smiled for paparazzi pictures.
Those smiles faded as the details of blackened eyes, bruises around the neck and cuts came to light. A songstress was in hiding. She has secluded herself in Barbados among family and close friends. The alleged abuser has also left to visit family. Suddenly, the intense glare has become too much when it's negative and intrusive.
Neither victim or abuser have complied to police for an interview.
Rumors of a volatile relationship, a controlling behavior, verbal arguments and a secret affair have been told by "reps" from the couple's separate camps.
The victim has revealed nothing to authorities; whether out of fear or out of shame.
The perpretator has displayed complete confidence of not going to jail over his crime.
Witnesses saw a verbal altercation. The victim, herself, was shown to be assaulted. The offender ran to evade police. There was a felony committed, right?
To add, Gather has been taken hostage by Hollywood's celebrity and the accusations of domestic violence. But, investigators have received no cooperation from either Rihanna or Chris Brown.
And today, US magazine has a disheveled Rihanna in a hoodie on its cover.
I smell a setup.
