If you celebrate Valentine's Day, then happy Valentine's Day to you.  I've never embraced it.  I figure that if my hubby and son love me, they should do that all year - and, yes, it works the other way too.  I guess I got that attitude from my mother.  She always hated Mother's Day for the same reason.

Happy 2 year Gatherversary, and Happy Valentines Day. To me it's fun seeing it through the eyes of my daughter. We made cookies to take to school, and I helped her assemble her valentines. I remember back when she was in preschool, and I had to write the names on the valentines. Soon came the year when she wrote her own name on-and she received ones her classmates had written the names on. Those early ones were hard to read, but they were priceless as kids' first attempts at using the penmanship they were learning in school for the real world.

Happy Gather anniversary! I like Valentine's Day just because it is one day where everyone seems to pay attention to their loved ones. Sure I say I love you all the time, but to all the neglected mothers and wives out there, I'm hoping this is at least one day they get some attention! LOL

What Linda said. I've always considered it a childrens holiday. I just got a text picture from one of my grandkids with flowers and a love you. That means more to me than a diamond bracelet. Have a happy day and congradulations on 2 years of friendship. You are pretty special.

Personally, I love Valentines Day. With five children our budget is very tight. Valentines Day is a nice excuse from our normal budget to squeeze out a couple of dollars for spending on each other, and perhaps going out to dinner or a movie.

Of course we shower each other with our love on a daily basis, but it's nice to have an excuse to do something more than we normal can do.

That's the way I always felt about Christmas. Somehow, spending hundreds of bucks on family members and then driving past homeless, hungry people on my way home never quite made me feel like that was what Jesus would do. Plus, if you aren't loving your God the other 365 days a year, what's the point?
