Well, it's been just over 2 weeks since I started my treatment for an advanced case of Lyme disease. And since I'm feeling worse, the doctor says that is good because it means that the lyme is being eradicated from my system.
There have been some changes this week - some better than others:
- I've gone from having horrible insomnia and only being able to sleep about 1 1/2 hr a day to being so tired I can barely stay awake
- I had a rash on my scalp pre-treatment that has totally cleared up - the dermatologist said it was from some type of infection but he didn't know what - he gave me a topical cream but it didn't really help - maybe it was from the lyme?
- I'm still getting a lot of pains - they come and go - but when I have them, I really have them!
- My head feels just a smidgen less foggy. Brain fog is something that I have really been struggling with and that's what I would like to change the most, so I'm hoping that this continues to improve.
Just thought I would let everyone know how it was going. And I am hopeful that this is really going to help because even though I still feel pretty bad, I am seeing slight changes and that's good enough for me right now, especially considering that the doctor says that treatment can take anywhere up to a year.
As a disclaimer, if you get lyme and it is treated right away, the normal treatment time is usually only about 3 weeks, but because my lyme has gone untreated for about 6 or 7 years, that is why my treatment is probably going to take so long.

I'm glad the treatment is working,
I hope the pain lessens each day and ends very soon.
Prayers and hugs being sent.
