I think I'm in over my head on a New Project....

You see, I can't just sit and watch TV. I have to be doing something while I watch, so I thought I'd start a new project. Since my SIL is having a baby in August, I probably should be working on a baby quilt for the baby. Instead, I picked up a non-baby cross stitch quilt to work on. I think I'm in over my head though...

This is the photo of the front cover....and what is suppose to look like when it's finished. It didn't look that difficult, until I took it out of the package. Oh my!! There are lots and lots of colors and lots and lots of detail that you can't see in the picture. This is going to take a lot more time and skill than I first thought. Just separating out all the different shades of yellow is a chore....

I have found that the kits are harder than buying the floss seperately. What color is light yellow and what color is soft yellow? Crazy how they just throw the floss together and make you figure it out. Good luck....it is beautiful!

I feel for you Jax! The last time I did an embroidery project (years ago) I couldn't believe how complicated it was. It will be beautiful though from the photo. GOOD LUCK ;-)

This is beautiful, I have made a lot of these and they aren't as complicated as they look but they are time consuming. I am the same way, I cannot sit and watch TV without "doing something". Enjoy your project and you will have a beautiful quilt in time.

It may look complicated but it is awfully pretty. Good luck completing this one! Looks like you've got your work cut out for you but it gives you something to do during the winter!

I am also the type that can't just sit and watch tv - I have to be doing something - usually it is my scrapbooking or making my weekly To Do or To Buy lists. I am a multi-tasker.

I can never just watch tv either. I have to be doing crossword puzzles or something.

So, I guess you could watch something really boring on tv, like maybe the news, therefore giving most of your concentration to your project.

When I start a new project that has tons of colors I too get a bit overwhelmed. The work looks great so far. Just focus on one color at a time.
