Do you want to get on a path to a healthier lifestyle? Could you use support from like-minded individuals to help you make better choices? Then join us for a live chat on Gather to discuss topics around healthy living!

Welcome to the Gather Snack Break Support Chat! Each week, the Living Fabulously group will host a live discussion on healthier living. Join us within the comment field of this article TODAY @ 8PM ET for the discussion. This week discuss the following questions:

  • How do your family and friends influence your exercise and eating habits?
  • From childhood to adulthood, have people in your life influenced your self image?
  • Do you think the way you treat people in your life and family (your children, significant other, close friends, etc.) has had an impact on the way they view or take care of themselves?

Chat with your other Gather members within the comment field of this article. You'll need to REFRESH your internet browser to see new comments posted. The chat will take place from 8-9PM ET. Gather will draw one member who participates during the live session to receive a 5- pack box of Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs OREO Mini Cakesters and 300 Gather Points ™!

I'll be missing this one as I usually do miss the evening ones, but in this case, it's probably just as well. I tend to be the type of person who is influenced only by my husband and son, and that is in the area of possibly an opinion or what to make for dinner. I'm not influenced in the areas you mention by anyone.

Hi Kimberly and Ryan. I agree the cookies aer not the best snack. I always baked my own when my kids were home so there wern't any preservatives in them. They never lasted long enough to have to be preserved.

Fruit was always a big item on the grocery bill. We raised a lot of our vegetables.

Thanks Kimberly, now I won't feel so bad about all the ice cream I eat. Some of it is the "light" version.
My kids used to love to make their own jam in the summer when fresh rhubarb was in the garden. They made the kind with rhubarb, a package of Jello, usually strawberry or raspberry and of course sugar. It tasted good on bread or toast.

Sound good Ryan. I used to make that often. really stretches the food dollar.

I never use sweetend applesauce. I like to keep a jar onf the unsweetened in the fridge for an evening snack. It is so much more natural tasting than the sweetened kind.
