Certain animals have a long history of interacting with humans, they are called domesticated animals. Wild animals are exactly that- wild. If the parents wanted a pet, they should try a nice dog or cat or other domestic animal.

I read the article and what a constrictor snake does is first bite and then coil around it's prey. This snake was 18 feet long and considered this 3 year old kid prey! They need to lock these parents up for a long, long time- keeping a wild animal that should be in a jungle as a predator as a pet.

I have never thought a snake of any kind was a good pet. A dog is a lot smarter and a lot more friendly.

I wonder if they had a permit to keep a wild animal. At least the mother did protect her kid by attacking the snake.

That poor child. I'm scared to death of snakes, I cannot imagine seeing how large that thing was at 3 years old.

Poor child. If they thought they had to have it why not make sure it never got out. They shouldn't have it period in my view however.

I took in a baby python that was starving to death in an abandoned apartment. She was pathetic and I couldn't even let a snake die.

Long story short, she grew 6ft in 9 months and got so strong and aggressive that she began stalking my poodle. I was afraid I would wake up one night with her wrapped around my neck. I sold her to a herpetologist. Too much for me to handle.
