Brett Favre Hangs It Up.

Brett Favre retired from football today.

He informed the New York Jets of his decision and thanked them  for having him as their quarterback this past season.

Although Favre has retired before as most of us know, I believe that this is it.

He is hurt and tired.

The 2008 season took a toll on him and there is nothing more to prove.

So Brett Favre walks away from playing football with a slew of records.

The most notable being 464 career touchdown passes, 5,720 completions, 65,127 yards passing, 169 regular-season victories and 310 interceptions.

Favre is an icon in Green Bay where he played most of his career and he will always be one of the NFL's biggest stars.

We will miss that legendary number 4 on the field.

I don't know if he will ever coach or be a part of the game again, but one thing is certain: Brett Favre will be in the Hall of Fame in five years.

Thank you Brett.

It is too bad that he marred the end of his career with all of the embittered controversy with the Packers. It led to nothing, and he damaged his reputation as a player and as a person. If he would have stayed retired from Green Bay he would have been heralded so much more than he will be now.

He's an all-time great ,but probably should have hung it up last year.

What IS that man's problem anyhow? This makes what now, his THIRD retirement? I think people are getting sick of these pro ballplayers.....I hope this will be it!!!!

He should have stayed retired and avoided the unnecessary drama. He is great player and should have been happy being a home living a normal life. That is just me...get out while the getting is good:)

Somewhere, I saw a title "Seeing Is Believing". When someone retires from one place, and takes on another job, does that mean two checks come to that person with some type of income tax consideration providing the second job doesn't exceed an allowed retirement income limit? Just curious. This dude might be really "using his head" by "going out, and coming back in" LOL.
