I had my doctor's appointment today at the orthopedic office. I waited ro 45 minutes before he got to me. He showed me my x-ryas and MRI to explain to me what he was seeing. He said that he didn't really want to go in with the scope to check it out since the tear was so tiny. He said that the MRI isn't always accurate.
He suggested that I have a cortizone shot in the knee. Ya, I was all excited about that! NOT...lol I have to keep my leg up, iced, and wear a brace. I still have to take aspirin 3 x's a day for now. He wants me to call on Friday to see how it is. If it is feeling better than I can go back to work on light duty.
He gave me the shot, it hurt like heck. After about a half hour I was able to walk normally. I called the Worker's Comp office to up date them what was going on. Not 15 minutes later HR from work called to see what day I wanted to come back. I said on Monday. They told me my shift was already filled, but another shift was available. I took it! My co-workers, supervisor, and program director are happy to hear I will be back. I guess they have missed me.
So, we'll see how the rest of the week goes. I hope my knee is fine.

Glad it's better.
I had "the shot" one in each elbow, most painful experiences of my life. Hurt more then breaking my arm.
Everyone is different and I was not put on light duty but this was a long time ago (15 yrs?). Please take care of yourself!
happy valentine's day!
I had a knee injury at work in 2002 and had orthoscopic surgery. I would still be using worker's comp docs if I hadn't moved out of state when I married my hubby in 2005. Thankfully he had excellent insurance that covered pre-existing conditions. Know what I discovered? The worker's comp docs lied about the condition of my knee. It was twice as bad as they led me to believe.

I do know that there are doctors who do not know, for whatever reason, how to accurately read an x-ray, so maybe getting a 2nd opinion would not hurt. I had to with my kidneys. And I'm glad I did.
