Sunrisetea stall

I stir the aromatic dream

in a cup of warm Darjeeling.

The friends and foes are all present;

the morning tea stall wants to tear

the masked news reported in

the day’s paper; we are the experts.

The sunrise yoga at the park

is nearing the end. Joggers

have joined in our arguments.

 

After all we are a tired lot

living own life for rest of the day.

All here means "friends and foes" so "all" is redundant.

You know, being here in India, right now, I can easily visualize this poem as it happens, as it plays out. Tomorrow morning when I awake to go get my tea I will think of you, Poddar, as I sip my warm, sweet, Indian milk tea. Nothing like it in the whole world!
