Here is a blog exchange I've eavesdropped on that followed an editorial which basically held that if the Republicans can't help, they need to be ignored.

Unemployment is 7.6%. Yes 7.6%! And we're willing to risk devalueing the dollar and causing hyper-inflation because unemployment is at 7.6%? This is insanity and we as Americans need to toughen up and not risk our children's future because a couple of people are unemployed. This is practically full employment and we're willing to cause real financial hardship in the form of inflation to combat almost full employment. Absolute insanity.

You will notice that I said the latest.
I got my pink slip in November, Asshat, and believe me, I haven't found a job because I haven't bothered to look for one. (College educated, honors grad, always worked, conservative in that I never looked for a handout while giving to those less fortunate, married to the same woman for 34 years, raised three responsible kids - police officer & Marine vet, teacher, Masters degree, and college professor, MFA - and everytime I go to a job fair I see people that are a lot less fortunate than me.
I'll keep on going and I will survive somehow, despite the best efforts of the Republican party. As will the rest of the country.
A couple of people unemployed ? Almost full employment ? This posting is not a case of someone having more balls than brains, it a case of someone having NO brains.
And you can cordially go to hell and take your Republican friends with you. You can have a reunion, what with Cheney being the mayor and Bush being the city manager.
