Surrendering to You

Seconds turn into hours...
hours turn into days,
and it seems like forever
since you held me.
My body trembles
at the remembering…
the way you could still me
with your voice,
drive me over the edge
with  a touch.
Like a dagger dipped in honey,
you pierced me with your eyes,
and I am lost in the memory.
Standing before you,
all of the trappings
fell away,
and it was just me..
vulnerable and open.
Oh, how this sweet surrender
lingers in my mind…
like the scent of lilacs
on a breeze,
or the sound of a child’s laughter
long after it is over.
I need to be in your arms again,
feel your lips press against mine again,
lose myself in you again.
This is what I know.
This is who I am.
