Yesterday was such a nice day my son wanted to pick oranges to make orange juice. So, I got an idea of what to do with the orange rinds once cleaned out. I made jello in them.
First my son and I went out to the orange tree. We noticed some of the oranges didn't fair to well after the cold snap that came through. But that didn't deter us. We were still able to get a nice supply for what we wanted.

I couldn't tell you how many oranges we picked and had to go through. To find enough that were good enough to use. But I can say we got enough to start squeezing the juice out of them

My son did most of the squeezing of the oranges. We were able to fill this container several times. Here's a close up of him squeezing the juice out in progress.

After the juice was squeezed out of the oranges. It was time to clean all the pulp out of the rinds. This part was messy. But my son agreed it was alot of fun. After this was done. We sat the empty rinds in a cupcake pan. This was to help stabilized them. So they would not move or roll over.

That's the last of the pictures. Because somebody decided to stick their fingers in the jello. They were not good enough for pictures. But still tasted good.
As for the empty rinds, I filled them up with jello I made on the stove. Than let it set up for an hour in the fridge. They turned out great. I was able to cut some them up to look just like orange wedges. Oh course when we had jello. We had to wash it down with some freeze squeezed but cold orange juice.
I can't remember where I got this idea anymore for the jello in the orange rinds. But it was somewhere off the internet.

That's a really interesting idea to use the rinds as bowls. And I think you could have posted a picture of the fingered Jello.
Yes, I should have posted one of those. But I did not think about it til I no longer could take a picture. That was my mistake.
