Of course not. Some Americans may not have enough money for heat and water bills but they will find a way to fill their bellies with junk food.

I can't remember the last time we had McDonalds. Honestly. Of course, this has the teen in a dither, but he'll live. Probably longer if he doesn't eat that stuff.

The cheaper stores will do better for a while. As things get worse, even they will feel the pinch. Hang in there.

this is true Larry, many people will turn to cheap food, cheap stores and even online buying at ebay or amazon because it is cheaper.

Anyone think or have an idea of when things will start to get better?

I agree with Larry. The people who used to eat lunch and dinner at restaurants are now more likely to chose a fast food place.

The dollar menu may be cheap, however when you are feeding a family of four it's cheaper to go to the grocery store, because then you get filled and probably have leftovers...where as the dollar menu only feeds you now, not to mention how unhealthy it is!

I can see why folks switch from more expensive restaurants to dollar menus... but I think more like Jenysie I guess... If times are tight... cook at home and pack your lunch for work!
