This is the least creepy of my Hoxie population sign photos.

"Welcome to Hoxie!" Hope Ya Like Purple!

On this one, I have utterly NO CLUE. I think it was the half-dead garden outside the Walnut Ridge jail, with a sign that said "309 Garden: Land Mines In Use", but we'll all have to take my word for it.

Evening Shade wasn't much better -- here's the (closed) cafe sign:

And finally, a lovely scenic shot of the White River dam area in Batesville. Wish you could have seen it the way I did --> NOT PURPLE!!

Yes, I am taking my Canon to the camera doctor. Yes, I'm sure I will be buying a new camera. (I will keep you apprised of funeral services.)

Shirley -- 'tis only a wee three years old, and has lived a sheltered life, unlike my Pentax, which kept discovering gravity's pull but didn't, as it turned out, bounce well.

Perhaps I should offer this camera up as a "prize" for something... hmmm...

If you need a recommendation, I LOVE my Canon PowerShot SD1000! The only problem with it at all is that it is sometimes difficult to hold it still enough because of its tiny size. I think that they have come out with a newer model, though, that has image stabilization.

I say dunk it in the Arkansas River ~ my pitiful little camera survived two complete immersions and wasn't harmed, but then again, it's like me and doesn't have much brain power. The Hoxie Mustangs sign looks more like a Therizinosaur (ask your kids) but that would be unwieldy to do as a cheer... >8)

I can't believe a three-year camera is ready for the junk heap. Maybe it's just a simple thing that can be fixed at a repair shop. It's probably worth asking about. Or maybe, you can get a good deal on a new camera at Circuit City.
