Yep, today is my Gatherversary!
Yupper... 'been puttin' up with all you guys and gals for "three" years now, LOL. Geez, seems like yesterday; sort of...
I missed my other two anniversary dates in here.
So today I'm bragging it up a bit. Point pimping in other words too I guess, ha ha. Home Depot is calling me... "come... come... use those cards..." ;-)
Today started out a bit rough though, our male Collie Zeke, aka "Big Guy" went into seizures again this morning. It had been a while since the last one and the Vet had prescribed us 'meds' (phenobarbital) for him. The seizures aren't pretty, last forever it seems in waves, though more like 10-20 minutes probably; and I feel so bad for him. There's not much you can do, except watch his tongue so he won't bite it off! When he comes out of them, he walks around the house for hours and can't stay still.
About twenty years ago we had another dog with epileptic-like attacks, and it required continuing increases in prescription drugs until they just didn't work anymore. I hope that's not the case here, he's only about three plus years old himself. Bummer... ;-(
On the light side, it's raining! Yay, rain is always welcome here. It helps give us a great Spring Bloom and everything gets so green. Then summer comes and melts us to death, ha! Oh well, bring down the rain I say, make the plants and critters out there happy. If they're happy, I'm happy.
Well, rambled on enough I 'spose. You all have a great Sunday... ya' hear!
Take care,
John S. (arizona)

I also had a dog tht had seizures. He was also on the same meds . It was an awful thing to see and the poor dog would walk around half the day afterwards looking like he didn't know where he was. Luckily we were able to control it with medication but he would still have occasional seizures.
You have a great day too John!
You have a great rest of the weekend John.
Chris- thanks so much. Yes, that is exactly what he does. I just hope we don't have to put him down eventually like we did with the other dog named Buddy. He just got to a point he didn't know us and had one attack after another. He was taking the max dose the Vet said, but it wasn't working anymore after a couple of years... real bummer.
Stephanie- great content? Ha, you are tooo kind, LOL. I should do more I suppose, just too busy reading I guess. Thanks.

Happy 3rd yr at Gather and thanks for being a friend.
I sure will rainne, the "Big Guy" is sleeping/recovering now though; he even missed "treat" time earlier with all my other pals... unusual for him... ;-)
HA!
Tell her I'll cook ;)
You've been cleared by security already in the house swapping deal, ha ha. She said no to snow, but you can come cook anytime.... ;-)
Thanks.
I hope your dog doesn't have any more seizures.
If I could, I'd send you some of the snow from here in the midwest. :o)
Happy Gatherversary!!
Am sorry about your dog. It really is hard to watch them and be able to do little or nothing to help them; except love them, and they know when they're loved.
Sassy- me too, thanks for stopping by; I don't mind snow, lived upstate NY once... it's my wife that can't take it, LOL.
Tanya- yeah, it's kind of rough. Thank you.
Rob- actually, I've been around a few months longer than this, I just didn't join. I was sent an invite by my sister in '05, but all I did was read, thinking I wouldn't fit in so to say. Finally I just decided to jump in and see, so I joined.
I hear you about the people and all. Miss some, others not etc. as you. I just do my thing though... ha!
Next? Beats me, same thing I guess... Gather upgrades, some will like, some will not, we'll all bitch, ha ha! Whatever... Thanks and take care.
Have a great day and happy Gatherversary.
Take care.
Sorry to hear about your dog. :( We've been lucky with our dogs, one has asthma, but that's it as far as health problems. We're not so lucky when it comes to cats, though.
Elaine- Thank you.
Carla- I'm glad, though sorry about your cats. Thanks for commenting.
3 years. WOW.
I'm a newbie but I'm having fun.
Still learning the ropes and how things work here.
I hope your sweet doggie is okay.
I've been lucky with my furbabies so far.
Brian- Thank you, that's OK... ;-)
Sorry about your doggie, that would freak me out. Poor little thing. :-(
Moggy- yep, three... phew. Thanks, and that "little thing" weighs about 100 pounds, ha!
C A.- thanks for stopping in, appreciate it.
Happy Gatherversary John!!
I don't know how I missed this, but I hope Zeke is doing well!!
Cortney- Thank you!
Actually, I think we need to ask the Vet about his dosage of meds. He just had another attack at about 2am this morning. Not as bad, but still.... arrgh.
A big happy belated and home depoting to you, lol, amazing how the time flys!
I have two sisters born on the same date as you joined Gather; about 17 years apart on May 10th. You have been a bright spot in here for all this time, and I appreciate it too... ;-)
You take care now, and thanks again.
I had a little Pomeranian for a short time when we lived in Roosevelt and she would go into those seizures. It's so frustrating when you can't do anything for them. But love goes a long way with our little critters.
Toni- Only a year, it feels like you have been around longer than that. You sure have made your mark here, that's for sure! Thanks for commenting.
Hope Zeke improves. Poor doggy, I know that has to suck tremendously!
Henry- thanks.
Matthew- Thanks for stopping by!
Wish you a great gather anniversary...
A friend of mine just retired and moved to Chino Valley, AZ. I'm wondering how he's doing in the heat and dryness after living his entire life here in NY.
Take care.
