
Who Am I?
- I was born during 1864 in Diamond, MO.
- In 1886 I was rejected from Highland College (KS) because I was black.
- In 1890 I attended Simpson College (IA) and studied music.
- In 1894 I graduated from Iowa State Agricultural College.
- I taught at Tuskegee from 1896-1943.
- People consider me many things: scientist, botanist, educator, inventor.
- I was the first "Mr. Peanut" since I created over 100 products from it.
- Booker T. Washington (founder of Tuskegee Univ.) and I were good friends.
