Oh boy... Did I do a boo boo just a while ago...

Okay...  Maybe some of you have done this, maybe not.  But this just takes the cake for me.  When I first became a Gather member back in August of last year, I invited a friend of mine to join that I met on another website.  We became fast friends and though we lived about 20 something miles a part, we couldn't hook up a lot, but we did manage to have a couple of lunches together.  Her schedule has been so busy and so at best we will talk on the phone or email a few times a month.  I have been trying to encourage her to get more involved with Gather and I think today she tried spending a little more time on here.

Anyway, she surprised me this evening and dropped by to say hello.  While she was here she had asked if she could check her Gather emails because she was expecting a response from another Gather member concerning mailing a magnet to her.  For some reason, (not sure of all the details) the magnet was returned back to the Gather member and so my friend asked if she could have it sent to me instead.  I agreed.  I think my friend was just trying to make the arrangements with this other Gather member.  I didn't ask about the specifics.

Well...before my friend was about to leave, she asked to use the restroom because she had a long drive back.  While she was in there, I decided to check to see if I had received any comments on my recent posts.  I noticed one that I wanted to comment back on and so I proceeded to write this individual an email.  When I did...I noticed that we weren't connected.  I could have sworn we were. So I apologized to this individual and hoped that I had not offended her and wished her well.

As I hit the send button, I noticed that the return address was not me, it was my friends.  About that time, my friend was re-entering society (LOL) and I told her what happened.  She started to laugh, because she told me that she had not yet signed off before she went to do her business.  Dumb me just didn't think and I just started Gathering.  Apparently she was looking at one of my posts and I forgot about her having to sign on and so I just proceeded to do what I normally did...  Duh Teresa??? That's why I wasn't connected with this other Gather member.  It wasn't my account!  LOL

I told my friend that this other Gather member is not going to know who this whacko person is and why such a strange email came from her.  So my friend immediately sent an apology email to this other Gather member explaining what happened.  Man...did I feel like Yogi's side kick Boo Boo tonight. I hope this Gather member understands.

Have any of you ever done anything this foolish before???

Update:  Sadly...I just found out she is no longer my friend.  Or maybe we were never connected in the first place.  I really don't remember because it's been a while since I have had any communication with this individual.  Oh well...that's the way it goes.
