I actually do the same thing and add the Tyson pre-cooked chicken breast(if I'm really lazy) or leftover grilled chicken.

Quick shepherd's pie, I should post the recipe. Fried beef on the bottom, a layer of carrots and green bean, layer of instant mashed potatoes, gravy over the top and bake it up - voila, I'm a hero :)

Our easiest is frozen ravioli, a mixture of half meat and half cheese, and store bought spaghetti sauce. Of couse we do have to dress it up a little with freshly grated parmeseano reggiano. I can actually even skip the spaghetti sauce and just put butter and the cheese and be happy.

Sometimes we take a tilapia filet, put some garlic salt, soy sauce and a little water on it and stick it in the microwave for 3 or 4 minutes. It tastes good, it's fast and it's easy. We'll stick some rice and some raw veggies on the side. Done and done.

wow i will def have to try this! ty ty ty. LOVE FISH... i usually rinse the tilapia filet... then cover it with crushed pecans.. add a dab o butter and throw it in the toaster oven.. ummmm we have this with salad. easy peasy .. i will try your idea. thanx!

Great suggestions here. When it's nice outside, like today, the quickest and least expensive meal for us is actually steak (on sale for $1.59 per pound, bone in, at Safeway right now). Throw seasoned steak, seasoned steak-fries-size-cut skin-on potatoes and broccoli florets (wrapped in foil with some water) on the grill, and 10 minutes later dinner is done! Serve it up with some horseradish and ketchup for the potatoes. Oh yes, good stuff. My mouth is watering, so I guess it's off to turn on the grill.....
