I have seen this on so many comments and even a tag line or two.
In order to impeach you need to have grounds.
These do not count:
1. I didn't vote for him.
2. I don't like him.
3. He is black.
4. He can't prove he is black.
5. He was born in Indonesia or Kenya.
6. His mother didn't qualify as a natural born citizen. Even though she was born in the states. She didn't stay here for 5 years between the years of 1962 to 1963.
7. He has a funny name that makes me uncomfortable.
8. He pals around with terrorists.
9. He is a Muslim.
10. He is black.
11. He is scary(black).
12. He is an elitist(uppity and black).

The people who are calling for Obama's impeachment are anti-American. To be fair, I say we put him in line right behind the others. After we've tried, convicted, and impeached Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the rest of that gang of terrorists for their crimes against the world, we will try Obama for his crimes.

Impeach Obama sites were up by the end of the primaries. People are visiting those sites heavily and making up grounds for impeachment. The guy has been in office 18 days.

I figured it out. The few people on Gather who are on these ugly campaigns must all live in Idaho...or that's where they would fit in. I know this will come as a shock to you, but I think a lot of folks are jumping the gun here. There's no justification for this type of rhetoric at all. Impeachment is a serious matter, and those who call for it for frivolous reasons undermine its purpose and its meaning. I felt that Republicans overreached when they impeached Clinton.
The guy lied about cheating on his wife. How many men would do the same thing in that situation? It was partisan, unnecessary, and uncalled for.
The same applies to the people who wanted GWB impeached. As partisan as Nancy Pelosi is, and with as much hatred for President Bush as she has, does anyone really believe for a minute that she wouldn't have proceeded with articles of impeachment if she thought she could make the case? But she didn't. In fact, she wouldn't even entertain the idea. That speaks volumes!
Now, I know many of your friends on Gather will jump all over that and rant and rave about how Bush should have been impeached. Have at it. I will not engage in a back-and-forth over such a silly issue. With that, I defer to you and the others on this post....
