Sad, sorry, sighing
Set my lonely soul to crying
Sauntered round the green today
She wasn’t there.
I sank the summer plants
In sandy soil
In shady soil
She didn’t stop or foil my plans
For growing
Knowing only that
She’ll always be remembered
In the silent eyes
And sympathies
Where memory lies
So soundless
And so still.
