With five children we only went through one ear infection. Just let him lay on or hold a warm cloth to his ear. That helps them lot.

Yeah, a warm cloth, and some warm oil in the ear, and for heaven's sake, don't let him outside until it's over.

Poor little boy :( The cold medicine is probably some type of a decongestant to try to get rid of the fluid before it gets infected. I hope he feels better soon.

there is medication that can help dry it out
I do think, my kid had that alot and ended up getting tubes, which was good, casue it helped alot

My oldest daughter was always coming down with ear infections! Keep an eye on him and I hope he feels better very soon!!

Sorry to hear it. That's what I worry about most for my little baby -- my older ones got them all the time as toddlers!

Wonderful doctors. Nothing they can do, but bring him back when it gets infected so they can give more pills to fix what they don't know what it is. Hope things improve for both of you.
