Yes I do feel the pressure to be a size 2 thanks in part to celebrities and the media. In fact it's even drizzled down to the Jewish Orthodox community where a guy won't go out with you because you're not a certain size and frankly its not fair or even normal. The fact that celebrities on magazine covers are air brushed seems to have escape the public notice which I find annoying. How many teens and young adult even kids have to become anorexic before somebody takes some action to say be healthy? America Ferra is an actress and look at her shes a normal human size who's healthy and she works in the television industry

"Skinny as a rail" is not good or healthy and I don't believe any man wants a woman that he has to carry in his pocket everywhere they go because she is so small and unhealthy she can't walk.
In Britain a model has to maintain a certain body weight to be able to legally work as a model.
Better living through chemicals

Fat is ugly, and means that you're a lazy slob, and their is no reason for it.
When I was pregnant with both of my sons I was repeatedly told how no one ever knew she was pregnant because she stayed so thin and that the day after she gave birth to both my brother and me she was back in her pre-pregnancy clothes.
My smallest size was a 12 and I never had trouble getting guys to notice, getting rid of them yes. Of course I am not tiny and not foo foo

Forcing women to be thin just so that women don't want to wear the larger size clothes.
At one point in my life I could wear a size 0 jeans. I was very sick at the time.
Right now my size 5 are in the closet resting. They are my normal jeans size. I say resting because I quit smoking and I gained 25 pounds. I am knocking on the door of 150 so about 4 days ago I decided that my size 5 jeans have rested long enough.
However, because it is litteraly killing models to be this thin, the, I forget the agency's name, but the agency that over sees runway modeling is demanding that the standards be raised=heavier, more normal.
Personally, my "normal" weight is about 120, I'm no where near that right now as I still have baby fat. My son is two, I've had a very medically bad 2 years so I haven't been able to be as active as I normally would be. When I'm not sick I exercise in my family room, play outside with the kids, eat healthy, and do a lot outside during the summer. I've never been a big "junk food" person, we still have Halloween candy. The only exceptionn is when I'm sick. And I don't mean a cold or flu, I mean like surgery, or menengitis, or other hospital stays. You lose muscle masss when forced to be inactive for even "short" periods of time. Muscle mass is what revs up your metabolism.
Most of the people I love best and run to hug have at least a few extra pounds, as do I. Do I love them less? No way!
Think about it: would you rather hug a teddy bear or a Barbie doll?
Thanks for posting to Let's Throw a Party!
I do believe the trend is changing. There is more knowledge about eating disorders now. And more talk like this.
