THE SMILE I CAN’T REPLACE


Can you see the miracle I see in you?
Can you see your soul’s reflection in my own?
When I look into your eyes,
somehow the world just disappears

Caught up in the passion of your heart
hidden deep within your eyes,
Our hearts and souls are knit as one
like a thousand strands of steel
are joined to form a bridge

No matter the miles between -
distance holds no power
the bonds between us are our strength -
incomparable, unconquerable

Forever I am lost within
the journey to be with you -
our spirits entwined as one
as you walk across my mind

I’ve spent countless hours
enraptured by the thought
of simply being near you -
the sound of your voice
renders me speechless -
captive to your humor’s wit

I’ve beheld your face -
breathless at the sight -
how many the days since I’ve looked
into the shelter of your eyes -
how I long to see your face -
the smile I can’t replace
the music of your voice -
your gentle kiss that leaves me weak

Await, my love, no more -
hurry to my waiting arms
rush into the safety of my heart -
leave behind a world of uncertainty and pain
for the strength we have as one
