That's pretty scary... some kid's idea of a stupid prank??? I can't imagine how they could confuse iced tea with cleaner...

That is horrible but you would think she could have smelled it?

wow, thats actually a good reason to sue i guess. it sure beats the whole "McDonalds made me fat!" case. that was the biggest display of ignorance and irrisponcibilty i have ever seen...

Ryan-Or the coffee was hot and burned me. Having worked in fast food as both a teenager and then as an adult, there are some sick and twisted individuals behind that counter.
As an adult I had a friend, whom I had gotten a job for with me, physically attacked in various methods by another co-worker. When she was working the sandwich station, she asked this guy to give her a "single" he didn't put it on the bun he threw it on her chest. Sizzling hot off of the grill.
On another day, this guy was told to wash the floor behind the counter. This is supposed to be done with hot, but FAR from burning water. Think of a really warm bath. He was also supposed to announce that he was going to "throw the water" which is everyone's clue to get out of the way for a minute, mostly to keep from getting soaked.
He waited until my friend was the only person in the area then threw near boiling water AT her. She was drenched from waist to feet. She ran to the back room and started pulling off her clothes while screaming.
They sent him home for the rest of the day. Unfortunatly, we never worked the same shift, I went to school in the morning and had to get my son by a certain time, so I only worked the lunch shift. I never met this guy.
If I had been there I would have called the police and had the guy arrested for assault. Another friend of mine worked at the same place and threatened to hunt this guy down outside of work. He was told that if he did that he'd be fired. Yet, this kid was allowed to assault another co-worker while working.

Scary.

some years back i listened to a police scanner because my daughter was riding with a female officer....up came this phone conversation.....two guys talking.....one worked at a local steak house.....he was telling the other one how he peed in the mashed potatoes... OMG.....i never went there again....

How horrible. Doesn't sound like the lady was hurt, though. I mean, she only took one sip and it burned her mouth and then she stopped drinking it. We don't know if she threw up or anything after that. How bad can one sip of kitchen equipment sanitizer hurt someone? It is an honest question - I really don't know.

I wonder if the person who got her tea for her knew her?

First , we don't know if it really happen or it is some type of scam.

Bad stuff. I don't know if it's safer to eat out or eat at home (with all the recalls).

You mean it is a legitimate case if she was actually injured, right George? I mean it might not be morally right, but the law only steps in and award someone damages if they have actually been injured.

I'd sue too.
