You may retain money for any length of time in a personal PayPal account. If you add credit cards or debit cards to the account, then the terms of the card may dictate service fees for inactivity.

what do you mean you dont want to be sent a check until...does paypal send out checks? When i get money in my PP account i just transfer it to my bank account. Its free and i think you can transfer up to $500 a month for free lol not that i ever get $500 a month in pp money;)

paypal send checks if you request it and charge $1.50 on each check sent.

I want to wait and ask them for a check to deposit into my savings. I can't do direct deposit with my bank.... not with a savings account.

PayPal does send checks if you request them, but they charge a fee. Easier to just deposit directly into your account from Pay Pal itself.

I've never had an fees for leaving things in my personal account.

If you upgrade your account, you can use their debit card rather than being sent a check. You'll take a bit of a hit on some payments (not from Gather and most other large paying sites), but you'll be able to use your funds whenever.

I have had money in there for 3 years, I haven't seen any fees. Skype is the worst, they purge your money any way they can

You can keep your money in there, you can have them send you a check , you have them direct deposit into your bank account !! I do not see why more people are not doing it that way. They charge you if you want a check!!

I learned the hard way NOT to trust Pay Pal with my money.

There is no set time you have to use the money you put in there but let a fraudulent charge show up and they will keep you tied up in paper work that has to be snail mailed and you usually dont hear a thing back from them until after the 90 day limit to complete a claim has past - then they deny it because of the time limit.

I have had a problem with them before. They said if there's not enough in your bank account they will charge your back up which is my credit card. Of course they don't tell you that they try twice and if your bank charges you a overdraft fee twice its not their fault! I had to close my account with the bank and I still owe them over $250 in charges!! ONLY CHARGES!!

you need to find a new savings bank who does direct deposit unless it's a hometown bank then keep it. just in this day and age all banks should do direct deposit...doesn't make any sense that they don't.
