WHY?

in response to the Drama in the last few Days!

As I sit here this cold morning, I wonder

about the way people treat each other

in the way they talk, write and act,

and I ask myself over and over, WHY?

WHY do people have to be so mean and hateful?

WHY are they surrounded by negativity?

WHAT has happened in their lifes that is so bad

that they have to be so hurtful to others?

I try to never say anything to hurt someone

because I know, what goes around,comes around

Live your life with the best of your intentions

because it is too short to worry about what others do

Hurtful words are like tiny daggers

that cut into everyones heart and soul

If you can't say anything nice to someone

by all means please don't say anything at all.

PLEASE be nice to each other.

This is very nice. But I'm afraid it will fall on deaf ears. There are some whom it seems are here only to create hard feelings and that is how they get their enjoyment.

Should I follow the Golden rule of Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, when they ignore that rule themselves, and continue to harass me? I don't think I can turn the other cheek much longer.

Oh how I wish everyone would heed your message. It's so much easier to be nice and if you can't be nice be silent. It's not hard at all. It's also very easy to ignore the negative and accentuate the positive. I only have so much energy so I always choose this road.

Not sure Maria. seems to be way too much of this going around. The economy isn't helping any. I'm trying to be a good person, after loosing my job, and seeing that its affecting more and more of us

Amen and amen, Maria! I have written, and posted, a few articles about nastiness and hate here on Gather..........I don't know what IS with people these days, but it sure does get old fast.......I have never in my life "seen" so much hatred, negativity, and nastiness as what's occurred, and still occurs, here on Gather........I guess some people just get their "kics" out of being hateful and mean to others.....I dunno.
Maria, this is a very beautiful poem....I hope that everybody on here sees/reads it....thanks so much for sharing!

Just plan to think of Gather as a beautiful park, enjoy the beauty around you , clean up after your pets, don't litter and be careful you do not step in the piles of poop left, by others, on the ground. LOL

Major ditto! There are so many rude people on the Internet. Who are they? And what exactly is there problem? I'll never know the answers, so I just try to avoid them and move on. There are nice people too, so I focus on them. Take you for instance. :-)

Maria, I had the strangest thing happen yesterday at the grocery store. I'm disabled and use a cane. By the time we were through shopping I hurt and needed to sit while Larry went through the check out.
Our Kroger has about three tables/chairs to sit at. There was an elderly woman sitting at the closest one. She was alone so I asked if I could share her table. She said NO NO NO. Luckly there was one place yet open. I have never had anyone turn me down before.
