Hi friends,
I sent some of you a gather mail asking you to look at my "friend", Brandon's post. I want to thank you all who took the time to look, and thank you again for commenting. As you may have guessed, this is my son. He is trying to get a job, but at his age, it's difficult. Even the 18 year old can't get a job around here. He wants to take a trip to see a friend in Arizona in May, so he is gathering to try to offset some of the cost. Plus he helps me deliver the newspapers. He is also gathering to improve his writing skills.
I know a few of you have kids that have tried gather. I don't see them very often though. I am wondering if maybe Brandon should start a group for the under 18 crowd. Maybe they can talk about things that interest them. I did notice that a few other people have tried, but failed in this endeavor.
Maybe you have a teenager who would like to write and talk about video games, teen books, movies, TV, music, dating, school, friends and whatever angst the teenager has to talk about. Gather is better than myspace (IMHO). I'm thinking that maybe here they will focus more on the actual writing, and less on the cyber acronyms, and foul language. With the added bonus of a monetary payout, maybe you can convince your kids to join.
The first day Brandon joined he said, "Gather is addicting!". Which of course, I already knew!
Do you have a teenager, or pre-teen who you think you might be able to convince to join gather, or who is already here?
Oh, I almost forgot - This is Brandon's profile page:

I think DNbuster said her son had an account...........and someone else did too, but I didn't understand who they were talking about.
And yeah.........you probably could ....... ;)
Brandon might be a special case. He's got time. We'll have to see how it goes.
Actually, I wouldn't be 18 again if you paid me. Well. You'd have to pay me A LOT.
As for the state of my mind, that's another topic entirely.
