Now with a vacancy opened and not feeling quite right with Howard Dean even though he and Ron Paul are both Physicians and would be another likely choice.
Mitt Romney although in many ways I do not agree with him, because of his arrogance is more than qualified to act in the bequest of the Chief Executive.
As Govenor of Massachuetts- he did much in this area and his executive and financial skills rival any of the other possabilities.
It would be a bold but great way to accomplish more than meer politics.
Just wondering what people think of this bizzare choice.
Stranger things have happened and even worked!

How about Dr. Jack Kavorkian.
Having been born and raised in MA, I know for a fact that Romney's only reason for holding that office was as a step up to the national spotlight. He did absolutely nothing for the state. He even paved the way for many of the very reforms such as gay marriage that he so vehemently protested when campaigning for president. He's a hypocrite, out for the most money for Romney and sons that he can get.
Who has Executive abilities?
Who managed a State?
Who worked on this already?
Clinton cannot do it anymore- so who do you think can make it more effective?
I am not a Republican either, but who are the alternatives?
If you are not a part of the solution- then you are part of the problem!
So who do you know that has any knowledge on this subject?
Talk is cheap, but we need action now and at least Mitt Romney is not part of the Washington regulars and he did a good job with the Olmypics.
I do not like him personally, but we need a director not a Daschelle who obviously will not be in this position?
Think outside the box!
Let's get real here. There are many, many people in government right now who have worked on the health care issues over the course of many years. And there are many people in the private sector who are extremely knowledgable about it. And don't kid yourself about Romney being 'outside the box' - he's as intangled with lobbyists and corporate fat cats as any Washington insider.
Personally, I've managed a lot of large programs. If his work on the Olympics is his big claim to fame, I wouldn't consider that a big point in his favor.
Who managed a State?

Joel, experience means nothing if the person didn't do a good job. As Sheryl said, there are many people with experience. Choose one that performed well.
I hear so many people dissing this post, but no one is putting forth names and qualifacations.
Same old Washington- speak, but never say anything.
I guess we know what will happen if we do nothing?
Sandy you act like you are informed, yet I hear nothing from your statements at least I am offering alternatives who would you want and why?
With all do respect I completely disagree. Mitt Romeny was the reason a lot of our health and human services budgets got cut!!!!!!! We lost a lot of social workers, Family workers, drug prevention programs for adolecents, we lost some mental health workers that worked in state facilities...
I couldnt think of a more terrible person! He's such a flip flopper and a lot of bostonians dislike him...
Maybe since your outside of Massachusetts he seems a lot better for the position.
I for one wish to never see him again ESPECIALLY in a health and human services position.
