Yes, friends, I apologized to Howard Stern yesterday. We met at a Carrow's in Omaha, NB. Our people negotiated the most neutral venue they could. Howard was quite cordial. We didn't shake hands but we sat at opposite ends of a table for 8.

I also have to admit that I made up my allegation that Sarah Palin is a closet Mensa member and subscribes to the Journal of the American Mathematical Society. Neither statement is true. I'm sorry for the embarrassment it may have caused me.

I may have to apologize for this one too, but I have to get it out there: John Boehner was arrested yesterday for public indecency at a stable in Nashua, NH. The donkey has not released a statement but it's my understanding that there is veterinary corroboration for the charge.

As they say on Law and Order, fluids were present, hey? Shocking.

I heard that Stern was the guy that broke the Wells Fargo sales conference story. Is that true? I also heard that Palin was slated to perform at the conference hospitality suite and Stern kept that out of the story as a 'favor' to her. (If that's true, you heard it from me first.)

Those were some serious accusations against Palin. Given that they could negatively affect her future presidential ambitions, is a simple retraction like this enough? You know how easily people believe rumors, and how hard it is to convince them that any rumor is false, even if there isn't a shred of evidence for it. This is especially true if the character flaw alleged is as despicable and dangerous as intelligence.

And just think of the possibilities! If you remove the paying it forward comment, you can write another apology for doing so. My apology group will come alive again!

If you don't, I will have to write my apology to the rest of the country for Mitch McConnell.
