The verdict is in. Yep, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, on Monday at sunrise, on Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania. According to Phil the Groundhog, that means we have six weeks mo
re of winter. I've been thinking about what I'm going to do during the next six weeks and I have decided to make good use of my indoor time! I intend to Remember Spring Is Just Around The Corner, as part of my I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count. The list of possibilities is infinite and can be tailored to your own dreams, resolutions and daily goals. If you need some help - a little nudge, a bit of inspiration, tips, advice, and news about the best ways to make resolutions a reality - please use IResolveTo.Com as one of your resources. I could take a 'woe is me' attitude about six more weeks of winter - I prefer warm weather - but instead, I'm going to spotlight Phil's verdict in a ray of sunshine rather than an inky shadow. I'm going to view Phil's forecast with a 'glass half full' attitude. Consider this: Winter is almost 'over'. Spring arrives in just 43 days on March 20th. Back on October 31 we faced 140 days until Spring (yes, I start my count down early). So the good news is that we are in the home stretch. I intend to make good use of the next six weeks, which in turn will help me to cultivate a positive attitude. Here are 10 things I'm going to do now and, when the weather warms, I'll have plenty of time to head outdoors for all the activities that I love: Gardening, walking, swimming, hiking, and tennis. I can't wait. Okay, I'll throw in a few fun, relaxing things to do, as well, so it it's 'play, as well as work' . . . If you have some ideas for good indoor projects or simple, fun activities - drop me a line!
- Take a weekend nap, or two.
- Clear the clutter and organize my office.
- Plan my garden now, so I am ready to go!
- Finish most of my Spring cleaning before the end of March.
- Light a fire and curl up with a good book, a movie, or my journal.
- Spend an afternoon at some of my favorite Smithsonian Museum exhibits.
- Build a plan that enables me to complete a variety of indoor home projects.
- Work extra hard to complete as much work as possible on my creative projects.
- Step up my exercise program: weights, bike, Yoga, stretching, and walking, so I am ready for Spring and Summer.
- Keep an eye on the weather forecast, so that I can head outside on the warm days, which do occur in the winter in Virginia.
