Last year, we were fortunate enough to attend the 2008 Gulf Coast Salute Airshow. The airshow was at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. If you haven't checked out my photo essay from the event, please feel free to do so. The show was spectacular and featured the Thunderbirds. I was able to get a reasonably good amount of action shots.
This year, I am very excited! The coordinators of the 2009 Gulf Coast Salute Airshow have managed to feature the Blue Angels. Woot! Woot! It has been years since I have seen the Blue Angels in action and I am looking forward to seeing them at this year's show.

I last saw the Blue Angels some 35+ years ago I guess. It was in So. California at a Naval Base/Port, I can't bring to mind at the moment. I think they were using F-4 Phantoms at the time.

They way they do everything in perfect unison, getting in the aircraft, putting helmets on, etc. is cool...
I won't forget :) They both do it and I got some shots of the "ceremony" of the Thunderbird pilots last year. They didn't come out well though. I'll do better this year.

I like visiting the area, but I certainly don't want to live there. I tried it once and am much happier where I am now.
I think so too. I wouldn't know how to act with two shows a year :) I checked out their schedule and it does seem to be a lot of different locations. Someone told me it took something like 4 years to get them scheduled. That's wild.

Lloyd, you always hear what you want to hear even if you have to twist it around to suit you. I've only lived in Panama City one time, ever, and believe me...it was one of the worst mistakes of my life. Then again, I should not contribute the problem to the area but to the company I was keeping at the time.
