I really need advice...

I took brayden to school this morning.  Well over the weekend we found out his teacher quit.  I was a little nervous about it, but I put on a happy face to make the best of it. Well today, I took him to school like anyother day but it was diffent today. He was like crazy glued to me.  When I take him to school he can't rid of me fast enough.  He is bound and determine to have me stay the whole class with him.  I am trying to figure  how to ease this for him, but I am out of ideas.  Today I made a negtive into apostive, but it did not work.  Does anyone have ideas?  I have been under so much stress with brianne, that my brain is not working right.  Please help with ideas

Talk to the new teacher and the administrator. They should be able to help him (and you!) through this situation.

When my kids acted that way is usually was just for a day or so. No one reallly like change.

I think Teresa is right. Maybe he'll be better in a couple of days.
You just keep taking him. The more you show YOU are scared over the change, the more HE will be scared. Kids pick up on what adults are feeling with body language, tone, expression, and words. You may have put a happy face on now, but he would have picked up on your fear of a new teacher over the weekend.

It sounds as he is picking up on your feelings, talk to the teacher, ask if prehaps you guys could meet at the park, or ice cream shop somewhere where it is fun for your son and can interact with the teacher in his happy zone :>} I have to do this for my two FXers when they change teachers..this year we have gone thru 3 teachers so far~~
Just try to relax mom and things will work out :>}

Anne, I work in a preschool and the best thing you can do is just leave him. I know it is hard if they are crying, but believe me as soon as mom is out of sight most of the crying stops. We have to tell parents that all the time. If there is a real problem the teacher or administrator should call you.

Not sure what to tell you. Unless he is a special needs child I would just follow Carol's advice -- it's the best thing and before you know it he will get over the separation anxiety and be running off with his friends!

Maybe if you take time before or after class to talk to the new teacher with him it will help put both of you at ease. Change is tough for little one. Sometimes you just have to let them work it out and let them know you are there to talk to if they need it.

I've seen it happen in my daughter's class when I worked there. Kids screaming and clinging until mom and dad are out the door. Unless you see a big reason for him to be like that, I would keep leaving him. I agree with some of them above, he just may be picking up on your feelings.

I know this is bad but I used bribary with mine until he saw that changing schools wasn't going to be that bad. If he went to school had a good day he got a special treat when he got home. Maybe you could try that. If you leaves you without crying try giving him a special snack that he normally wouldn't get when he gets home. I used popcorn.
