Okay, this is the scene. In the kitchen doing the dishes and at this point I am running the water in the crock pot to rinse it. Terrifying screams emit from the room in which my 5 year old daughter and the 2 1/2 year old little boy I babysit are occupying. I turn from the sink and rush in to find the problem.
Well, the little boy hit my daughter in the butt with a balloon!!! Yes, only a balloon. Why that required screams that could have broken the sound barrier is beyond me. So get the screams under control because by this time the 2 1/2 year old is crying as well and back to the kitchen.
One step in the kitchen is all it takes for me to realize my mistake!!!! Water everywhere. You know how much water can run out of your faucet in 5 minutes??? ALOT.
I left the water running into a pan in the sink with no drain plug in it so what could be the problem? Well, when I turned from the sink my hand must have moved the faucet from the sink to the back of the sink. Water was running across the counter as the lip of the sink did not allow it to go down there. So across the counter the water went only to end up on the floor. I had a nice little river going from the counter to the kitchen doorway and it's width is growing fast.
So now I have lots of towels to wash. It was my fault in a way as I should have shut off the water but this did not sound like a little squabble scream. My daughter and I had a little talk about what constitutes the necessity of a scream of that magnitude. Oh, little side note, our wonderful dog had her paws up on the counter trying to lick up the water as fast as she could if you can picture that.
Have a great day everyone. I am going to shower not that I am halfway there and get ready to run my errands for the day.

I would have loved to see that dog just trying so hard to help clean up all that water. Lol

I can't help myself as I chuckle a little remembering back to those days.
