A Thrifty, Homemade All Purpose Cleaning Recipe!!!!!!
Homemade Febreeze Recipe.....Lots Cheaper Than Store Bought!
I couldn't wait to try both of them! I now have made them, and here are my thoughts:
I was concerned on making an all purpose cleaner with Murphy's Oil Soap because of it leaving an oily residue. I have used almost my first full bottle, mostly on my mom's kitchen floor. It doesn't seem to leave a residue. Last night I washed off the table with it and it was great.
With it only taking 1/4 cup of the Murphy's the bottle I bought will make several batches of the cleaner. I would guess more than enough to last over a year. We always have vinegar in the house. I have Borax since I use it to make my laundry soap.
I didn't have enough to make but 1/2 a batch of the mock febreze, which turned out well as a full batch wouldn't have fit in my spray bottle.
I had a hard time finding a liquid fabric softner that I liked the smell of. I smelled them all at the store, even the expensive ones...yuck! What happened to that good smelling Snuggle? Looks like using 1 cup at a time for 1/2 recipe I can make about 4 batches of this. This is going to work really well with us having the 3 cats and 1 dog.
Think about the non-food daily living things that you buy.....trash bags, dish soap, laundry soap, body soap, shampoo, toilet paper, cleaners etc. This really adds up to quite a chunk of money over a years time.
Doing things like making your own cleaners at a fraction of the cost is a great deal. It also pays to watch the sales, use those coupons, and send for a refund if possible.
