Two Days And Already A Lifetime

Buddha In The HouseIt's been two days already here in India and already I have a lifetime to write about, photos to share and on and on. Jeez, it's probably a good thing my head wasn't on straight last time I was here or I might well have gotten lost and never left.

In the interim, before I do some writing I'll leave you (and Tom Friedman) with some photos of 'infrastructure' in the heart of India's fourth largest city: Chennai.

I'll be visiting the temple of the beach tomorrow.

And I want to make on thing very clear, I am not ragging on the Indians, far from it. I'm ragging on Flathead. He only sees what he wants to see, not the reality staring him in the face.

The photos are amazing, Sean Paul. The beggar women are excessively thin; the rook is amazing,as I'd never seen one before; the mass transit makes me claustrophobic; the beach and water looks inviting, but wading, - or washing, as it really looks like to me, is a portent of danger and illness - the temple is cool.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I thought the last photo of the beggar woman was interesting because of the contrast between the beggar and the woman on the billboard behind her.
