Leaving the State

Today, we decided we need a break from Alabama...and the same ole same ole.  Soon, we will be leaving to head to another state, if only for the day.  Allen and I both need a little time away and I need my "monthly fix".  We're going where the surf sighs, wind whispers, and fish frolic.

It will be nice to take a breath of salty sea air and feel the breeze in my hair.  It will be relaxing to escape the traffic and madness, to get away from the four walls I'm looking at now.  To escape from the TVs blaring and go where we have no cell phone service.  It will even be a relief to get away from the computer a while.

Allen and I are taking very little, just a notepad and pen, and a camera.  What more do you really need on a day trip?  We are dressed and ready to go.  My camera battery is almost on full charge.....

We don't often day trip. We go every month or so to various reenactments, visit our grandchildren in N.Carolina, and trips to visit friends or parks. We are blessed to live out in the countryside with lots of places to walk.
