Wait and See

For the past few months, my wife and I have been attempting to get pregnant.  This is a huge step for anyone, and it's been quite the thrill ride so far.  I'm sure many people out there think kids are the worst thing in the world, but there are others who love it.  There are resources all over thew web, like this Seattle pregnancy page that help you along in the process.  And thank goodness, because we could never do this on our own.

It's a weird thing to have sex when you are trying to make a baby.  Whether you try to or not, the pressure just seems to intensify.  This seems to be more of an issue for my wife than for me, so I'll do everything I can to help her relax.  I'll light some scented candles, turn on Pandora, and turn off the lights so that we have nothing but the glow of the aquarium.  Then comes the fun part!

So far, every month has been a bit of a let down, but it sure is fun trying.  When the day does come when we get a positive, I'm going to celebrate with a box of Cusano cigars with all of my friends.

In the end, it's nice to be able to put this decision in the hand of our Lord and his timing.  I feel much more comfortable now than with using birth control.  He can open and close the womb, and we are putting our trust in Him.
