Wii Game Review - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

You'd think putting Mario and Sonic together in a game would be awesome, especially with an Olympic games theme, but I was really disappointed by this game. Although the graphics are really good, too much of the game is filler content where you have to see the same animations over and over. What this all boils down to is another collection of mini-games where many of them play exactly the same way. Despite being about the Olympics, I thought there just wasn't enough to do in the game. Definitely rent before you buy!

I've been steering my kids away from this one for awhile. The reviews have not been good and the content does not look terribly engaging. I figure when I get get it super-cheap at gamestop for about 10 or 15 bucks I'll pick it up for them since my kids are huge Mario and Sonic fans (as an aside, when was the last time Sonic was actually in a really good game? Genesis era?)

Yeah...Sonic is a brand name that probably needs to be expired. It never was as good as Mario.

I wanted to get it when I had heard about it, but my husband is always watching G4 on tv or looking at video game sites and he was like "we're not buying it, it has horrible reviews!" Mario Kart is really good, though.

I think I've heard somewhere that it isn't a good game, or it might have just been my own observations, either way I know I wasn't sure about the game. I haven't played the game myself, but if we do get the game sometime I'll see about waiting until I can find a cheaper way to buy!
