*The Man in my room last night* A strange, strange adventure...

Wow! Frightening experience. Very strange. But keep in mind if you have a very bad sinus infection the pressure can cause you visual problems. I hope you've gotten antibiotics for it.

getting them, kay.....but really, of all the experiences I have had, this IS the strangest. Even as I kicked out, i got the feeling I was in no danger, rather that I was supposed to help in some way...Some things are done automaticly tho, as in being surprised and instantly protecting self, right?

Well, I do believe in parallel universes and sometimes on the same dates as accidents or whatever, their "spirits" sometimes come back - what a history that house has - find out all the details as this sounds like a book to me. Salud

Maybe he wanted to tell you to keep their memory alive - that's what is coming into my head now - he wanted you to keep their memory alive. I love stuff like this as I myself grew up in houses filled with spirits who often gave me wierd messages in strange ways - more later. Salud

What is really strange is not just that you saw something but that you felt it too.

Oooooo, creepy. You should post this to the ghosts group :) They'd love it. So ... was there water on the floor where he was standing? Was the crash where the couple died in the rain? Very interesting.

It's the couple's house. They 'came home' after the crash. Check into what the weather was like that night. Maybe it was raining and he was soaked from laying in the wrecked car from being rained on at the scene. If you're seeing things just out of eye range...or out of the corner of your eye...it's them; or at least him...seeing how his father had the house built for him. Enjoy your spirit. He won't harm you...or he already would have. He's curious as to why you're in his home and he's not going away.

hmmm...I don't know about the rain during the crash, Barbara..... But I met the parents who had the home built and got the story from them, as they came down every winter for years. I went to work away from home in '05, and was only home on weekends... In april of that year, I saw the Father by himself, which was unusual, one weekend...and he told me the history of the trees in the yard named the chinese elms for me, then went on down the street. I found out a month later that he had died the WEEK-END BEFORE I had seen and talked to him!!! Saw his wife the following fall, and she was not a bit surprised at my story...tho most neighbors thought I was nuts, of course...

Very eerie experience, especially the feeling factor. Sometimes passed-on souls are confused, don't know they're dead. If you feel this is the case, you could put a candle in front of a mirror at night. When the spirit looks into the mirror and sees no reflection, they can figure it out.

Oh, Penni, my friend! No one need die IN a house to haunt it! Unsettled spirits seek out a place that they have a "connection" to! That's why many hotels, theaters, cruise ships and trains are very haunted places! Also, one of the most widely accepted theories concerning why ghosts are created in the first place has to do with "unfinished business".

In fact, the circumstances that the couple was killed while on their way to take possession of the house has all the elements of a "classic haunting" scenario!

The creation of full-blown, solid apparitions takes a LOT of energy on the part of the entity who is creating it. That's why full-body apparitions happen very rarely even in places that are well-known as being haunted.

If I were in your same position, this is what I would do:

1) For the good of paranormal researchers everywhere and to further their body of evidence, I would take random digital photos over the next couple of weeks whenever you or your roommate "feel" or "see" anything out of the ordinary.

2) I would try to establish a "dialogue" with whatever entity might be there. You don't have to talk out loud to them if you don't feel comfortable doing that -- just focusing thoughts like: "I know you're here and I know you feel as though this is still your house but, really, it's not. The house now belongs to my roommate and I," will help.

3) Be prepared for "fall-out" from #2. Coming to grips with the fact that they are no longer in the life they had is traumatic for most restless spirits and they "act up" -- occasionally by kicking up the activity in the house a couple of notches.

4) When you're ready, perform a cleansing ritual (different procedures for this can be found many places on the Web, I'm sure) and concentrate on "helping" the spirit (or spiritS) SEE "the light", go towards it and into it. Enlisting the physical presence and assistance of someone you trust to be knowledgeable and competent in these matters might be wise if you feel the least bit nervous about it but, truly, just "living with a ghost" and failing to help it into the light is incredibly selfish... Him/her/they NEED to "go on" so that they can evolve on a spiritual level...

I've been involved with hauntings very much like what you've described and successfully occasioned the manifestations to stop. The first most important step is acknowledging that there IS something there which you most definitely have done here...

My daugther lived here until late'05, and she SWORE the was an enity here that didn't like her! (she was doing drugs...hmmm...wonder if that was why she got bad vibes?)

I have experienced many hauntings and spirits before but never been in the situation that you were in with the man being dripping wet and standing over my bed before. I had someone in my apartment until I sent him to the light.

You really can talk to them aloud as if they were standing there in front of you. If the spirit or ghost had wanted to harm you then he probably could have. I think that he is just trying to figure out why you are in his house and he isn't. I too believe that the fact that you saw the father after he had passed had a reason too and that to probably help his family members pass on over.

Please do it Penni as they need to go over to the light.

I don't know that I'd want to necessarily interact with the spirit immediately. It could be more than you want to deal with. The candle may be worth trying first?

Ok, es...will do...again, I have never felt in danger around any type of being other than a LIVE human..i was very much taken by surprise, tho, and would have reacted differently
otherwise...it sure was a WOW!!! I talked to roomie at lunch, and he said: "See! We were Not imagining someone the past few weeks!"

barbara, the floor was wet when I got up about 6am, but my water glass and my glasses got knocked off the side table during the ruckus...which I did not notice until i got up and stepped on my glasses...

I'll try your candle thing, alison, as I have a way cool mirrror.....but interaction with beings other than humans are kind of....interesting...

You've got some very good advice here, Penni. Also, consider what may have been there before the house was built. We live in a mobile home that we bought when it was new 12 years ago, but it's haunted, because the land it's on used to be part of the Kolb Farm battlefield during the Civil War.

I do think you should wait until you are completely well before you attempt to interact with any spirit that might be in your house, except for taking photos, though.

With all due respect to Alison (she's a friend of sterling character and very nice lady), I'm kind of doubting the whole "candle/mirror" thing... I mean, most people have a mirror somewhere in their house (if nowhere else, the bathroom) and they probably don't take them down just during daylight hours and put them back up at night, so, it's not like any spirits who might be there don't have access to a mirror somewhere with sufficient light to determine whether or not they cast an image in it. So, I'm kind of skeptical about this method... Not saying it's wrong -- just that it doesn't, in my mind, make sense...

True "cleansing rituals" performed to help a spirit into the next world are kind of more complicated than that but, like I said, there are LOTS of good sources on the Net for this...

Um, Shells...I do believe randy.... the first time I was over at your house, before I met you, a sweet looking lil woman was kind of hiding behind randy... I asked who? he said: "Grandma!" And she pulls pranks too...

Wow, what an experience!

We're pretty certain my lifemate's mom visited us after she died. She'd lived back in West Virginia, while we're in Oregon. Not long after she died, we were all sitting around quietly one night, occupied with our various interests, and the baby swing, which was off by itself and had dead batteries in it, started swinging madly. Pushing the button to turn it off didn't work, and physically stopping it did nothing, it just started right back again. The motion was far stronger and faster than it was capable of even with fresh batteries. It only stopped when he said, as he ripped the batteries out of it, that if it kept on he was throwing it out in the yard. I felt like she came to see him and the kids, and suggested to him that he talk with her and let her know he was okay and it was alright for her to move on. I don't know if he did, but we didn't have any more unmistakable signs of her (or any) presence after that.

Hmmm...had she met the new baby before she passed, lune? She might have just wanted a peek, and to let you know she was ok.

I think that was it. She hadn't met any of this set of grandkids, because of distance and losing track of each other a bit. She and he were always very close, emotionally, he's just not good about staying in touch.

If it was Racheal Stortini having the visitor, we both know what she would do with it. Hmmmmm

That's kind of freaky but intriguing at the same time. I would do a history search on that area.
That's why I built a NEW house, no strange visitors are likely to appear.

Oh, it was indian territory until 1868, wade, then 12 families moved here. Most still have relatives around. There have been 5 bodies found near here since '02...the first had been missing for 12 years before she was found last year.... others were just dumped...

in the 1960s, we lived in a new home, and our two sons lived in an end room and had the dog sleeping in with them, I heard the dog, it was the middle of the night, make a strange growling noise, and I got up to see if all was okay, the hall light was just outside my bedroom door and as i put my hand out to turn it up, someone or something grabbed my arm, I can still feel the hand there. I was so sure someone was in the house, I woke my husband and the boys got up and we searched the house over, all locked up and no one there, Later we heard the house was built over an Indian grave yard, strangest thing I ever experienced, have seen shadows and lights and forms, but this one I can still feel on my arm. I am sure they won't hurt you Penni, kind of sad they are not at rest.

Mariana...dan is doing great, and said to say Hi to you. Tho they dianosed him with the heart thing and copd, he is taking meds for all and behaving himself,yea!!

Penni, thank goodness I dont see such as that. When my dad passed away I did see a shadow behind me a lot. But that is all I ever saw. I think it finally went away when after three years of being in shock and unable to mourn at my best friends passing. I cried all night one night and mourned, then it was like a cleansing. Now I only see the shadow when I am doing or thinking wrong things. I think he is still keeping me on track.

Sometimes they don't know they are dead. If you tell them, they might be able to move on.

Just before my father died, HIS father was seen many times walking back in forth outside my office door. Three of us saw him on many occasions. Once my father died, grandpa was not seen again.

I reread this. I thinking it was quite frightening and considering you had touch sensation, with your feet, this was probably quite real. I think you should warn your neighbors and tell this to the Police.

Sounds like a ghost to me. You don't have to have a death in the house to have a ghost. It could be before the house was built or something connected to the land

This happened to me when I was a kid, x it was 2 people (a man & a woman). When I tried to scream, nothing came out. I don't remember if I told anybody, as they probably wouldn't believe me-real scary tho'.
