I am jealous as hell of your ability to get such brilliant shots ... I have tried several times to shoot ice like that and they just do not turn out anywhere near as well as yours do.
Thank you so much for reviving the beauty of my memories of the ice storms I experienced (I am reluctant to admit that it was over 40 YEARS ago) while living in North Carolina... They were HORRIBLY destructive things, ice storms (or what they call "freezing rain" back there), but I have never forgotten (although, the memory "fades" somewhat over time) the indescribeable BEAUTY of the landscape on the mornings AFTER -- like some unreal, magical "crystal world" where the stalk of every weed, every twig and every leaf and was coated with what looked like molten glass -- the ground "crunching" under your feet as you walked across the grass... **smile**
Tonia, these photos are exquisite! It's not the sort of thing you wish for, and there's so much hardship and loss in the situation that can't be denied, yet it never hurts to seek out and appreciate the harsh beauty of it all. In fact, it might be important to do so.

I've gone back to see your ice storm series Tonia. Such an amazing time you've experienced there. I have to admit this didnt make the international news like the New England one in December did, yet to me it's far more newsworthy as surely this is not a usual event in Arkansas, whereas we expect those lunatics up north to endure such things, being insanely placed geographically in the arctic circle and all ;) I guess it's been a far harsher winter all over the States than usual. Like Mugg i'm happy to see this from afar and like all the others i agree you've captured some awesome images out of the damaging circumstances.

(oops, it's okay Aniko, it's just one of my 'things' with my loony friends in the north.. i pretend they're in the arctic circle and they pretend they still like me...)
This is why I love winter. Do you have these framed and on your wall? (I have my camera juiced up and ready, just waiting for the next ice or snow storm)
