Never Underestimate the Power of Free Online Press Releases for Promotion

I sent the press release for Ghostock 7 to these free press release distribution sites so far:

http://www.i-wire.com

http://www.prlog.com

http://www.pr.com

http://www.prcompass.com

I didn't pay for anything. I never do.

Today, I am doing research for paranormal.boomja.com, and I typed 'paranormal" into Google news, and guess what came up first?

"Ghostock 7, Paranormal Enthusiast's Convention, Visits Salem MA..."

Ha!

So, when you are promoting your book, your website, or any other project, don't forget the online press distribution sites. They not only can get your press release out to many news source, but they also immediately get your press release on Google and the other major search engines.

If you don't know how to write a press release, most of them also have free tutorials and there are many websites that will take you through it step by step.

I just checked out all the sites that you and the others listed. Great stuff.

One question: Once you register at the sites, have you gotten a lot more spam, junk mail, etc? I'm just trying to figure out what the "free" angle might be.
