Her name was Deborah Read Rogers and she ran

a general store in the same building that Ben

had his printing shop in.

A great piece of trivia. I bet most people would just know her as Mrs. Ben Franklin. LOL AARRGGHH The wives of historical figures aren't well enough known. Thanks so much for posting this.

Brian, I read Franklin's unfinished autobiography a few years ago. When I read the title to your article the first thing I thought was that she was probably busy chasing all of his mistresses out of their bed. I tell you, if a celebrity wrote now what he wrote then, the reaction would not be pretty.
